9. Every day I come and read blogs and even comment occasionally, but I just haven't been posting. Why? My life is boring. There I said it.
8. We did actually go for a hike on Saturday to Mt. Rainier, it was beautiful! I've never been to the park before. I just see the mountain from a distance (about 130 miles away). When the skyline is clear of clouds the native Washingtonians say "the mountain is out today"... well on the day I go to see her she decided not to come out. Clouds blocked my view of the peaks, but overall it was a great day hike (about an hour and forty five minutes). We saw some wildlife, including a Marmot!
7. This has been one of my best summers in a long time, working in education means a nice break in the summer and for once I actually had a nice break! I'm excited for the coming school year and the positive impact I get to make in my school. Don't let that thought lead you to believe that I don't wish summer would last forever!
6. One of the things that has been most fun about this summer is my regular exercise routine. I've been outside a lot! The weather has been perfect all summer. Beyond my regular workouts of run, bike and swim I have started strength training and I joined in on the fabulous sport of stand up paddle boarding (SUP)! It is really fun, and a great core exercise. I live in the "7 lakes" area and my husband and I have been exploring all of the lakes in our area by SUP. I even took my dog out on my board a few times and she does great. She is super cute in her little doggy life jacket too.
5. I miss my friend Maria, wish I could have visited her again this summer- we had so much fun last year. I'm really looking forward to my next visit. Was hoping that someone would take the lead on a BOOB's get together again soon, I'll keep hoping. Our organizers from the past events were amazing!
4. I have about 20 minutes to get dressed find some food and get out the door to go to work (counselors get to go back before teachers to work on schedules- yay.) I will finish this post!
3. We are hosting a neighborhood BBQ at our house on Sunday, I am the president of our association. Looking forward to visiting with the neighbors but not the deep clean of my house and prepping food for a big crowd. Maybe I'm just tired right now, I usually really enjoy hosting.
2. My husband and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary this summer. We've been together for about 12 years. Man time flies.....
1. Have I mentioned that I love my sleeve? oh yeah, I do! I haven't weighed in for a couple of days but my last one was 191.4, I'm approaching my lowest band loss weight. I have a feeling I'm going to pass it quickly at this rate! I've lost 58 pounds since March 18th, surgery was April 1st. Almost 60 pounds in 5 months- I'm so proud of myself and I definitely have my sleeve to thank for her support. I know I would not have been able to get here with out the help of my surgery!
I did it! and I still have 13 minutes to get ready for work :)
Mt Rainier hike- windy and a little chilly as we got up higher...
That SUP stuff looks TOUGH! I love the pic of the mt. but I think we need one of you on your SUP with your cute doggie! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the photo; hiking is never boring! I grew up in AK, and the local people say exactly the same thing about Denali--it's "out" or "not out." Usually it's not out. I have been through Seattle many times and always love seeing Rainier. I was there in June and had spectacular views of it that day.
ReplyDeleteI miss the BOOBS weekend too. You're doing great...keep it up.
ReplyDeleteYou doing amazing with your weight loss! You exercise a lot which is what I'm lacking! Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteWay to go!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow!! How are you doing these days-- keep posting, I am so happy for you that you are back on the right track and the VSG is working.
ReplyDeleteYippee!!!
