is FOOD! fOOd! fooD!FooD! oh, yeah- and EATING!
I hate this. I miss my band. 2 more weeks of wound care. I almost cried when I weighed in at my dr appt on Friday. I went from 188 on Monday to 195 on Friday. What happened? I'm still eating like I have my band. Too scared to step on the scale this morning. Maybe tomorrow.
Trying really hard not to turn to food for comfort. My Dr. said I can start exercising again on Monday. I guess I have one thing to look forward to for now...
Can I please get a do over? :(

Heal first and than yes, you can have a do-over! Until then, just take one day at a time....that's all you can do now. Plus, start exercising and that will help you to feel better too.
ReplyDeleteHang in there, girl. And give yourself a break -- you did just have major surgery, ya know! You are going to be just fine :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jacquie, whose blog I also need to visit, I guess she's had her surgery by now.. and also agree with Maria: give yourself a break to heal-- and drink a TON of water. I'll bet your body is in a shock type of mode and you may really be retaining a lot of water right now.
ReplyDeleteWater, water, water.
Focus on getting water in and don't worry about cravings so much as worrying about getting lots of fluids. The drinking may take care of the cravings!! xoxoxo
Honey, don't fret...You just had major surgery. When I had my neck lift, I went up as high as 12 lbs than when i went in to surgery. Fludi retention, a healing body and lack of exercise all conspire against you, but YOU WILL see a change. I promise and don't lose faith, ok??
ReplyDeleteYep, I'm just going to repeat what these other ladies are saying. You've probably got some fluid retention going on with all the infection getting taken care of etc. Keep drinking your water darlin and try to keep yourself occupied. TV is satan when it comes to trying to avoid cravings. Just say no!
ReplyDeleteDitto what everyone else has said. I know it's not easy to see it that way when you're standing on the scale, but you're doing everything right and your hard work will pay off in the end!
ReplyDeleteJen you have got to be scared BUT do your really think you earned those pounds??? Did you honestly eat enough excess calories to gain them.....NO. You couldn't have. You are focused on healing...and everyone gains water weight. Please try and think of how long (since 2009) you worked to change your eating habits, those ideas are still in your head. You will follow the rules of the band....just without the actual band. Doesn't everyone say that half the battle is the "head game." You are in that battle right now. I believe you can still do this even without your band....it sucks, it's unfair, and quite unfortunate, BUT I still think you stop the emotional eating and find a happy weight to stay at. You have come so far. Hang in there!!!
ReplyDeleteOhh don't get to discouraged! I am with Steph. You just had major surgery and there is loads of stuff going on in that body of yours! Focus on the positive and you'll be able to exercise too! Chin up!
ReplyDelete((HUGS)) All good advice above. Most of all, give yourself a break. You've been through so much. You'll start losing again, once you've healed and you can exercise again. Best not to push. Hang in there!
