On Sunday I finished my second event of my 14 in 14 Goal. It was the Hot Chocolate 5k. I was hoping for a better time, but I have done zero training so I'm not surprised I was so slow. Oh and the hills, there were a couple. I finished mid-pack (ish) so I'm fine with that. I'm feeling pretty confident that I'll be able to get under 30 minutes for my 5k once I really get back into my running routine. I'm sick right now so not really an option to go out and run when my head feels like it might explode. Life in general has been pretty busy, hence my lack of blogging. But I'm working on a better balance. I have a lot of SUP (stand up paddleboard) events coming up so I need to focus on myself and my training more. I have to head out to work now, but I will leave you with a few pictures from the weekend event-
PS. The chocolate was pretty good, I tasted it but didn't really eat much of it. The tech shirt we got was super awesome as you can see in the pictures!
my phone app, "map my run" told me that I went 3.45 miles in 37 minutes, the chip timer says I went 3.1 in 39 minutes.... hmmmm. wonder why the big difference? I liked my phone app time better!

Great work. I too made a monthly commitment to walk 70 km in March. I've raised it from 60 for Jan-Feb. you inspired me with your 14 in 14 but we don't have many 5k's still the weather warms. Keep it up and have fun running. I use the Runkeeper app on my phone and love how it maps out where I walked.
ReplyDeleteI'm having revision to sleeve surgery March 10, reading your posts on your experience was good reading, thanks for sharing
