I'm over my last post now... thanks for hanging in there with me. I'm back to my happier place, and working on many of the things in my last post that I have kept bottled up for a long time. I had a great birthday and things are going well with me and my hubs.
I've been exercising regularly since January. I feel great after every workout. Mostly I've been doing couch to 5k, but in January and Febuary I was also swimming 2 to 3 times a week. I've been concentrating on my running this month just because I was getting ready for the St. Paddy's Dash (which was this morning). It is a little more than a 5k at 3.91 miles. I wore a great costume and had my workout buddy with me who also wore a fun costume- we had a blast!
I'm disappointed that I have not lost any weight in 2.5 months of working out, but it has also helped me from gaining.
Oh, yeah, you might be wondering by now- "counting down"? "to what"? My sleeve surgery of course! I'm finally finally all cleared (with the execption of my final cbc blood test that I am doing in the AM) and scheduled for my surgery! I had to jump through some hoops to make it happen and I did get a loan because eventhough I have been saving and had most of the money I needed for self pay, I'm ready for it now and tired of waiting! I'll just be paying a loan payment instead of stashing away the money for the next few months.
My surgery date is April 1st. I did instruct my surgeon that there would be no jokes allowed on this day. He laughed and agreed. All I have to find out now is what time I will have my surgery on that day.
I'm looking forward to having the help of my sleeve. I am already signed up for a 5k (color run) at the end of May. I plan to keep exercising right up to my surgery. I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. My surgeon requires 2 weeks of low carb (under 40g). I am so ready to move forward... I've watched a lot of you tube videos and have learned a lot from other sleeve patients, I've kept up on reading blogs even though I haven't been very good about posting. I really just feel calm and ready. Ready for the next steps. So I really hope the next two weeks FLY by!!
Thank you , from the depths of my heart for all of your support. Just knowing that people are following my story and reading along is helpful. Extra thanks to all of my BOOBs who have been ther for me in my ups and downs, always providing support and cheering me on in the good times too. This is truly an awesome community!
loves ya!

I am thrilled for us... Sleeve Twins. I just read your last post and I am sorry I missed it. It sounded like you needed me and I wasn't there for you. I wish you would have called... I love you, STS!
ReplyDeleteThat is great that the countdown is on for the sleeve. I never had a band, but from what everyone says, the sleeve is everything that band promises to be without all the side effects. You will do great!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are back. A bunch of us seem to be rebooting. Just keep blogging.
ReplyDeleteExciting news!!! :)
