Hawk Hustle 5k

Sadly, no pictures of me in action to celebrate my big NSV on Saturday. I finished the Hawk Hustle 5k in 38 minutes! I am super happy with my time. I haven't been running for about two weeks because I was sick, so it was reassuring that I was still able to get done in a decent time.


I had my dog Madison with me and she actually slowed me down. She got tired towards the end and at the begining she had to stop and poo two times! So of course I am a good dog owner and I scooped her poo into a plastic bag to toss into a garbage can later (I had to tie the bag to her leash until we got back to a garbage can...ewww). Anyway, I am convinced I could have easily finished in 35 minutes or less if I had really pushed myself a little more... oh, well there is always next Saturday... another 5k here I come!
I celebrated my 5K by going out and buying some new running shoes... Tomorrow my goal is to complete my long run for the week- I am hoping I'll make it 7 miles. Say a little prayer for me :o)
