BYOC- man it has been a while for me!

It’s BYOC day! Bring Your Own Crazy! We answer a few questions to get to know each other better and to give our blog brains a break! Copy and paste to your own blog and enjoy!!

1. Alright – forgive me – we’re gonna get a little personal here. I was flipping through my organizer and saw in big bright letters “ANNUAL PHYSICAL DUE” coming up soon. Then I remembered that last year my lady bits doc said that since I haven’t had a bad pap in so many years – that I don’t have to come back for another 3 years if I don’t want to. What the what? Did you guys know that?

No speculum in the vaginulum?

Anywhoozle – it sounds all good but really – do any of you follow this medical rule? Do you go every three years if you’ve never had a bad pap?

My doctor said the same thing to me a few years ago, but I still opt to have a physical, pap and all every.stinkin.year. Why, because I am a walking anxiety attack when it comes to getting sick with a serious disease. My mom had to have a hysterectomy due to cancer, and my sister has had some irregular things happen, but nothing serious. Cancer is in our genes so I say better safe than sorry!
2. If you read, what are you reading right now? Or how about what is your fave music right now?

I love to read, but it seems like I don't take the time to sit down and get into a book unless I am on vacation- I love reading true crime, biographies, true stories. Daily I like to read the newspaper and magazines (tabloids, runners world, food magazines and of course blogs...
Music, I pretty much like anything that isn't death metal... mostly easy listening, nothing too crazy my hubby listens to country and so do I but I also like a lot of today's pop music, and the popular music of the 70's and 80's too

3. Name some of your favorite smells.

fresh rain (not city rain, out in the country rain)
apples and cinnamon
the Oregon coast
Fresh fragrant roses (my grandma's favorite smell)
Christmas trees

4. Showers or baths? Shampoo only or shampoo & conditioner? Shave daily or just when you start feeling and looking like an ape?

I love baths, but my husband is a bath guy (rarely showers, always a bath) and because he is a greasy car guy he gets the tub all funky- just about the time I am really wanting to soak in the tub it is needing  a deep clean and I just don't want to put the work in to get it perfectly clean so I just give in and shower. Don't get any crazy ideas that my tub is a big black grease pit, but I have this thing about bathing in a "dirty" tub. I usually clean the tub while I am in the shower about every other day. It just isn't  deep clean that would satisfy my need for a pristine bathing vessel. As far as shaving goes, I maintain. I get a little furry now and then, but I don't really like to let it go too long.
5. Repeat question: Summarize your week in real life and in blogland.

Well my week in real life has been going pretty well. I had my follow up appointment with Dr. Julie yesterday and in about 3 weeks I've managed to lose 2.5 lbs. My monthly visitor is just getting here so I'm hoping that after that ordeal is over I drop a little more. I've been exercising, working on training for my upcoming triathlon. I've biked my 12 miles, ran my 3 miles and I finally got to the pool and swam my 1/2 mile. It wasn't too bad, I think when I put all three together my goal will be to finish in under 3 hours. I only wish the sun would come out here in Western Washington- I'm still working on my summer to-do list and getting some things done here and there too. I'm worried about my friend Amey (in Idaho) because she is going through some really rough stuff right now, I am happy that she will be here very soon for visit with me and Ms. M. Oh, and my sister just called me on Monday to tell me that she got married! She was on vacation in Lake Tahoe and they knew that they were going to do it eventually and got all spontaneous and decided to just do it! I am so happy for her.
So yeah, things are just fine in real life, though I would like to be able to spend more time with my sister and mom.
In blog land, I think my blog has got to be one of the most boring reads on line. I need to get back to posting pictures and will get brave enough to post some comparison pictures, and possibly even some swimsuit photos this week. It is a lofty goal (I still don't feel really comfortable posting pictures of myself) but I can do it!

  3. The pap thing, what I have heard is that you do have to do the scrapy thing every year unless you have a "bad" one. They do recommend a pelvic exam every year though. Well at least that is what my doctor told me.

You are gonna kick some butt on your triathalon! Your swimming was amazing and you did an entire MILE not just 1/2!

WOW! On your sister getting married! How exciting and good for her!

  4. Also an intersting fact I learned from my Doc this year. That if you are 35 and need your birth control pill filled they won't do it if you smoke! Not that that is an issue for me cuz I don't smoke but I just found that very interesting.
