Well, not a lot of fun but some... Let's see on Friday Dave and I went out to dinner, I had a side salad and part of a cup of chowder. No stuck issues, felt good. Saturday we went to breakfast, I had a "mini breakfast" which was two bacon, one egg, one slice of toast and hashbrowns. I ate half of the egg, the bacon, two bites of the toast, and a few of the potatoes (about half of the meal). Dave said I should just order a side of something and eat a few bites of what he gets so I don't waste so much food when we go out. Might be a good idea at this point. My band is TIGHT mama! I don't need much food to feel full. After breakfast we stopped by the animal shelter because I thought it was the one year anniversary party of their opening last year (that was wrong, the party is next weekend). However, we did happen to find out they had an Australian Cattle dog in that was ready for adoption- a sweet young dog, someone did not find time to train him and was too lazy to exercise him. Anyway his name is Logan and he is now in our rescue program. I'll be posting him on petfinder.com soon. I also went to work for a bit on Saturday. When I got home I made some chicken alfredo pasta, with green beans and bread. I know, rediculous food for someone with a tight band, but one of Dave's fave. meals... anyway I tried to eat slow and small bites, but I messed up and ended up stuck and sliming for like 45 minutes- seriously it sucked. had some hot cocoa and called it a night once I was done with that. I felt like crap. On Sunday I took my Border terrier Ruben to a Tracking Clinic about 45 minutes north of here... he did so great! The teacher encouraged me to keep working with him, so yeah, I guess I have a new hobby now. It was a pretty long and rainy day, so I was glad to get home and see that my house was a disaster and Dave had brought home another rescue dog- a 5 month old pup! (yes that was sarcasm- gerr). Oh, well. Not much I can do now, I got my house cleaned up, laid down the law about the pup going sooner than later, had dinner (meatballs with gravy, mashed pototo and salad), watched some TV caught up on blogs and then- off to bed. So yeah, not tooo exciting of a weekend and I am still at 200 pounds. 199 hates me. Only have seen the number once (last week) then it got shy and decided to hide away. I want to just be there! Oh, I also have now told 3 people that I work with about my band- 3 of my coworkers who I also consider to be good friends, so I feel really good about it. I hated not telling them so I do feel better now.
Okay, so here is foster dog #1 Logan, I dont' have any pictures of the pup yet.
And a photo of Ruben at Tracking yesterday. I love him!

PS- I went to my band Dr. on Friday afternoon and he said that if I continue to have pain he is going to take my gall bladder out! He said that even if there are not stones on an ultra sound your gall bladder can still be over producing bile and that would be causing the pain too. He also said that pain can be a short sharp one that lasts just a minute or two, or the longer more intense type pain that I have had. ugh. I need to be managing my fat intake so I atleast make it through my half marathon before that happens! I did have some pain last night, but not really bad, just a little bit bad. I am going to hope that the pain stays away for a bit... so I can avoid another surgery. It would be so much more convenient if I coudl have it done later this summer anyway- like around the time I had my band surgery...
OMG, I was so excited to hear about your dogs...I love Australian cattle dogs, I grew up with one and we just lost our lovely little Border Terrier Millie last month which was so sad. She'd been going downhill for the past year and she was so tough we didn't want to give up on her, but the vet said with her condition she would have been in pain even though she didn't show it, so we had to say goodbye to her...so sad...I was only just having a little sad moment about her today.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope you don't have to have surgery. Your new rescue is cute. I have an Australian Shepherd and he is such a good dog - so sweet and smart.
ReplyDeleteOh wow you guys do doggie rescue...you are so fabulous. I got my dog from doggie rescue and he is the bomb. How do you let them go??? I would want them all. Sorry about the pain and the gallbladder...what a bummer. I am going to order soup or do what your hubby says as when I eat out I waste so much food....
