young(er-ish), fun-loving, happy drinker, talkative and outgoing... seeking same for double or triple room...

Please forgive the lack of formatting to this post there is no rhyme or reason- this is just ALL about ME! :) I just wanted to be able to share more about me so that I can find some like minded ladies to shack up with in Chicago- I'm hoping to connect with someone (I'm open to a double or triple room situation) who is from another part of the country or possibly even an entirely different country... no offense to my Washington band sisters, I'll get to hang out with you before and after Chicago :o)

Hi I'm Jen, 43 years old, Pisces, born and raised in Oregon, living in Washington state for 11 years now. I am FUN!

Okay so I'm just going to put myself out there right now- I don't think I come across in my blog as fun as I really am in real life, so I thought I'd just tell you all a little more about myself and hope that I sound interesting for someone to want to room with me. I like to be in the middle of all the action- I like to meet new people. I am a bit of an organizer and I like to help other people feel welcome and like they are part of the group too. I am perfectly OK talking to strangers in public and I know all of my neighbors. I like having parties at my house, especially having bbq's in the summer- good times! I love to joke and laugh and I believe life is meant to be enjoyed. I am a middle school counselor and I am passionate about working with kids (it keeps me young), but I try to leave my work at work as much as possible. It can be an all consuming job if you let it. I don't have any children, but I do have a furry family- we have 8 dogs (yes eight) 5 cats, 2 pygmy goats and a mini donkey. We do have plenty of space for them, we live on 5 acres. When I say we, I mean Dave (him) and Me (Jen). Dave is my boyfriend, we have been together for about 7 years. Are we going to get married? Good Lord I hope so! We bought a house together and have a great relationship that has the potential to be a great marriage (who knows maybe I'll have the ring by the time our trip comes around). About three years ago we hosted a teacher from Australia who was visiting on an exchange program with students from her school. She stayed in our home and we had the best week- I really enjoyed it a lot and I am still in touch with her today. Like I mentioned above, I like meeting new people and of course I love having visitors in my home. Nothing makes me happier than if someone feels welcome and comfortable in my home. Right now some of my hobbies include scrap booking, quilt making, running, spending time with family and friends (my mom is one of my best friends for sure), going to car shows and events with Dave (he restores classic cars and hot rods for a living). I love riding my dirt bike, but haven't spent much time doing it in the last year. We also like to spend time at home relaxing. One of my big goals (I keep "Jen's wish list" taped up next to my computer in our home office) is to begin building a new home on our property in the next year. So I've been dreaming about a wedding, a new home, and travel (my top three). I am open minded and friendly, I am accepting of people from diverse backgrounds- we can learn a lot from each other right? I have one sister who is also one of my BFF's- we always take care of each other. I have never met my biological father, though I do know who he is and where he lives. I was lucky enough to grow up very close to my Grandma and Papa- they were like parents to me. I miss them both so much, and if I could have any wish come true it would to have more time with both of them. I love reality TV and Britney Spears. I can stay up late and get up early. I love spending time with people but I am comfortable to do things on my own- shopping, movies even eating! I am confident about who I am and see myself as a natural leader. I have no problem making decisions. I love the ocean and water in general. I've never been snow skiing, but I have been para sailing and have jumped off of a really tall waterfall in Hawaii and off of a pretty tall bridge in Oregon (both times into water of course). I love amusement parks and carnival games, but I never win anything! People say I am generous and kind. I agree with them. Well, I guess that is enough for now, but if you have any questions just ask- I'm an open book, so ask away... :o)

  1. Great post. Not sure what you mean about not coming off as fun in your posts. Your blog format alone is so cute. Did you email Stephanie to let her know that you'd like to room with someone in a different area of country? She left her email in BOOBS blog. sjoy@fit.edu She's putting everybody on spreadsheet so I'm sure she'll take your request into consideration. I actually found someone that lives close to me to room with, which I'm really excited about. Can't wait to meet you.

  3. Oh Jen. With that post, now I want to be your roomie, but I just booked in with Robin last night. But we can still do all those fun things you talk about in Chicago, and we will need a get-together room to hang out. I love to talk too and although an introvert have learned to force myself to be outgoing. This is going to be fun meeting everyone. Stephanie from the BOOBS blog is trying to match people so make sure you let them know you need a roomie. That's how she got me hooked up.

  5. Would I be rejected since I'm from Washington originally?
