1. Name a career you would NOT want to do and tell why.
I would not ever want to be a flagger (the person who holds the stop/slow sign in construction areas) on a busy street ever again! I did this two summers and the first time not so bad, it was a slow residential street. The second summer- while the job wasn't really the problem, though it was mind numbingly boring, it was actually the drivers who were AWFUL!! AWFUL!! I had people do terrible things- throw stuff at me, cuss me out, get out of thier cars and yell at me, run the stop sign... ugh. It was bad- not everyday but quite a few of them. I really did enjoy the people that I worked with though- they were fun!
2. What’s the best present you ever received for your birthday?
A surprise party that a bunch of my friends got together and planned for me :o) My birthday is my favorite "holiday"
3. This is from Amy W. (I had a request to copy her question and ask it today in BYOC) (Hope that’s okay Amy!)What do you hide behind?
I hide behind many of the things mentioned already but number one for me has been my kindness... constantly doing for others everything I can to make them happy knowing that they are unhappy with me because of my fat. Plus the nicer you are to people the harder it is for them to be mean to you. I enjoy giving to others, helping, comforting (I'm a school counselor for pete's sake, of course I'm a nurturing person deep down to the core of my soul), making it all better, understanding, accomodating, etc, etc, but it just got to the point where I did everything I could to avoid taking care of myself. I was too busy taking care of everyone, really everyone but me! I think that is where my blog title "It IS all about ME" comes into play. I finally decided to step back at take care of myself for once. Thanks for asking Amy- you got me thinkin'!
4. Where were you born? Portland, Oregon. Oregonian for LIFE! Go Beavers! :o)
5. A little twist on this one..usually we ask – what blog spoke to you the most, stuck with you, had the most effect on you this week? This week I’m adding to that which comment may have affected you greatly? Sometimes a blog can lead to amazing comments and they deserve their own claim to fame here in this question.
ugh- I can barely keep up with the blogs, I usually skim the comments so nothing is really coming to mind right at the moment....

Good answers and fun questionnaire. And I hear you about the blogs - we follow so many its hard to find the time to read sometimes.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness...at least you said Go Beavers rather than Ducks. We would of had some issues there ;) I'm a Coug and a big Duck disliker :)
ReplyDeleteGreat answers
ReplyDeleteLoved your answers.. for the record, I have always been nice to the construction flag people :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jen,
ReplyDeleteI was making a joke about being a fellow Washingtonian. I hide behind my jokes :)

Totally! Let's hang out!
I hear you on not being able to keep up on the blogs-- it has been harder than ever lately.
ReplyDeleteBut always good to read yours.
Thx for the support on my recent 'meeting'-- had the follow up on Friday PM-- 3 HOURS meeting with the CEO. It was a great meeting but I may be too expensive for the organization (i.e. I want more money than they can afford to pay.) We'll see... anyway-- bye for now.

Love the whole "the nicer you are the harder it is for them to be mean to you." Pretty spot on. Smooches.
