unexpected phone call...

so I guess I can blog about other things than just food here so I thought I'd add a few photos of our new rescue dog. We got a call from a border collie rescue on Friday just before we were leaving for my appointment. She doesn't have a name yet that she answers to (Maggie is what the lady said her name was, but she doesn't seem to respond to it yet). If any of you out there in blogger land think of a good name let me know. She is really sweet (so far, it is still the honeymoon period).

So here is what we know: She is approximately 2 years old, she was owned by an elderly lady who recently passed away from cancer. One of the children of this lady took the dog in, and also happens to have a home daycare... duh. daycare + ACD = herding = "we must rehome this dog now!" No actual biting, just typical cattle dog behavior...

She is super sweet and we haven't seen any herding behaviors at all. She gets along great with our dogs, very submissive. She also gets along fine with the cats. We are working on crate training- she will go in fine, just a little whining and barking last night, but she quited down pretty quickly and didn't have any accidents in the crate. She has a very dark blue coat and a beautiful spotted and striped raccoon tail. I tried to get a picture of the tail but she really did not like the flash... I think I'll be able to get some more photos outside soon. She loves to play with the loofa dog toy and squeek the sqeeky. She gets a bad case of the zoomies when you get her going- she is a pretty tall girl so it is hilarious to see her hit the turbo button coming around the couch and she is almost dragging her bum on the floor.

you can kind of see her really cute tail...
